About Oxford Botanica

We are a small company, totally engrossed in the delights of tropical plants in all their beauty. We provide tropical plant displays to offices, hotels, and showrooms and have made tropical gardens in private homes and around indoor swimming pools.

We are based to the west of Oxford, and can deliver and install the displays throughout the Home Counties and south Midlands. Our Maintenance Service territory extends to any location not more than about 75 minutes drive from Oxford (the loveliest place in England - we think !)

Oxford Botanica was started in 1980 as a hobby by Adam Hodge, but it developed so well that he opted to expand it as a business in 1982. Because of his insatiable love of tropical plants, the company always tries to offer something different, using varieties of plants many other companies would not know about or dare to use in commercial interiors.

The staff are chosen, not just because they are attuned to the behaviour of plants, but because they are darn nice folk and are pleasant to get on with. They need to be, Adam likes to create a positive atmosphere at work.

If we can make your offices or wherever you work, rest or play into places that are that extra bit calming, or stunning, or maybe even exotic, with our glorious plant displays and ensure they flourish, we will be really thrilled. Please give us a call - contact us

Adam Hodge

Adam has been involved in horticulture from the time he left school in 1972 and has been fascinated by plants from the age of 10. Having completed a 3 year course at Pershore College of Horticulture, he was soon appointed to the post of Manager of the Garden Centre at Blenheim Palace near Oxford.

His fascination with plants and their use in creative ways has taken him to tropical locations like Sri Lanka, Thailand and North Western Australia. He has also been involved with the design of gardens, giving modern interpretations to classic styles.

The image is described as,"Adam delving with an iron-shod spade outside the Garden of Eden. He stands as the prototype of English gardeners".
